Welcome to the Fallen Water Farm Festival Website!

The Fallen Water Festival Committee is proud to announce that the proceeds from the 2007 17th annual event went to help Kendahl Gayle Tolliver Cooper of Maynardville and Shirley Kitts of Luttrell.

Kendahl Gayle Tolliver Cooper is a 21 year old young lady, a 2003 graduate of Union County High School and was married to Ray Cooper in February of 2006. Around November of 2006, Kendahl began to experience pain in her tail bone, as time passed the pain got worse. She went to the doctor in Knoxville, after testing it was discovered that there was a tumor pressing on her tail bone in her pelvic region. The doctors in Knoxville felt Vanderbilt University Hospital were more experienced to handle this tumor. After going to Nashville and a regiment of testing, they performed surgery to remove Kendahl’s tumor. It was then that Kendahl was told that the biopsy showed her tumor was Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that primarily affects young people between the ages of 2 and 24 years old. It usually occurs mostly in boys; therefore it’s really rare for girls. In March of 2007, Kendahl began her chemotherapy treatments; she is expected to continue with chemo through March of 2008.

Shirley Kitts is 64 years young, married to Leon Kitts and they live in Luttrell. Shirley has been diagnosed with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), it is a lung disease that can never be cured. She suffers from Chronic Bronchitis, Asthma, as well as Severe Emphysema, and has caused her to have Congestive Heart Failure and an enlarged heart. Her disease can be treated. She is on oxygen almost 24 hours a day.

Next year's (2008) event is set for Friday, September 19, and Saturday, September 20. We are always looking for new sponsors.

All of us on the festival committee would like to express our gratitude to all those who have supported the Festival thru the years. Without your support we could never help all the families we have in the past years. We know you all love the festival as much as we do.

If you would like to be a craft vendor at the 2008 Festival, please email us at fallenwaterfarm@aol.com and be sure to put Attn: Jackie in the subject line.

The Festival is always the 3rd weekend of September.  The Festival starts (rain or shine) on Friday at 4:45 pm and runs til 11 pm. On Saturday we open at 8 am and close that night between 10 and 11 pm.  There's always lots to see and do.

Each family we sponsor receives an equal share of the proceeds.  Along with the money, we have a canned food drive and the food is divided equally between the two families. The 2007 canned food drive was a huge success. A special thanks to Alder Springs Baptist Church for their part in the canned food drive. Also, a special thanks to Bush for donating the chili for the festival and the pallet of canned food items, and to all those who donated items during the festival.

Craft vendors were setup throughout the farm grounds, live country and gospel music was playing on the stage, children's games were played on the side lawn of the old house, and the concession stands served good food and drinks.  On Saturday afternoon, the Old Timey Auction was held on the front lawn of the old house (donations for the 2008 festival can be taken all year long in preparation for the Auction), and Dolly Merritt made chicken and dumplings on the old wood stove.  Abe's concession stand sold BBQ sandwiches and "petro's", while Red Eye's had hotdogs and hamburgers.  Not to mention the cakes, cookies, and goodies sold by Ima Lewis and Bryerly's Chapel, and the funnel cakes were wonderful, ooh and the kettle korn was delicious.

WE DEEPLY APPRECIATE ALL THE SUPPORT THROUGHOUT THE YEARS FROM ALL OF OUR SPONSORS!!!
